NSDAR Scholarship Committee

The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR) awards more than $150,000 in scholarships and financial aid each year.  The NSDAR awards scholarships through the DAR Scholarship Committee. Scholarships are awarded without regard to race, religion, sex or national origin. All four-year, or more, scholarships must be for consecutive years and are renewable only upon review and approval of annual transcript by respective NSDAR Chairman. All applicants must be citizens of the United States and attend an accredited college or university in the United States. The only exception is the American Indian Scholarship, which is also available for vocational training.  Visit the NSDAR web site for information regarding individual scholarship requirements.

Ila Warner Nevada DAR Scholarships

The Nevada State Society, Daughters of the American Revolution, is proud to offer scholarship awards to be distributed once each year.

The Ila Warner Scholarship Fund was established by Ila Warner during her term as State Regent of the Nevada State Society - 1964-1966. The fund has increased through donations from the Nevada State Society members, fund-raising events, and a bequest from the estate of Ila Warner. The annual scholarship awards are funded from earned interest on the principal within the Fund.

The Ila Warner Scholarship is available to Nevada students who are either currently, or will be, enrolled on a full-time basis at the University of Nevada, Reno; the University of Nevada, Las Vegas; Nevada State College, Henderson;  or an accredited Nevada community college. Scholarships may be renewed for a maximum period of three years, so long as the student maintains eligibility (full-time status and a minimum 2.5 GPA).

The Nevada State Society, Daughters of the American Revolution plans to award scholarships of approximately Three Hundred Dollars ($300)  each in 2010.  Recipients will be notified by May 1, 2010.  For graduating seniors a presentation may be made at the annual high school awards ceremonies.

The number of scholarships available is dependant on the number of continuing applicants, but at least one scholarship will be awarded in May of 2010.
