Fort Halleck Chapter NSDAR

Chapter Vice Regent and RegentThe DAR is a volunteer women's service organization that honors and preserves the legacy of our Patriot ancestors. More than 200 years ago, American Patriots fought and sacrificed for the freedoms we enjoy today. As members of the DAR, we continue this legacy by actively promoting patriotism, preserving American history, and securing America's future through better education for children.

Today's DAR has 165,000 members in nearly 3,000 chapters worldwide, including chapters in 12 foreign countries. Since its founding in 1890, DAR has admitted more than 800,000 members.

Organized on October 4, 2003, Fort Halleck Chapter is proud to be growing in membership and contributing to Elko and Elko County, Nevada, in the areas of patriotism, historic preservation, and education.

Our monthly meetings feature educational programs.  Dr. Peter Klem of Great Basin College gave an exceptional presentation “The Role of Women during the Era of the American Revolution" at our February 14, 2009 meeting.  Dr. Klem is pictured above with Chapter Vice Regent Sharon Hastings and Chapter Regent Aubrie Kerr.
